Kamala Harris Says She’s Still ‘Thinking’ About A Second Presidential Bid

Former presidential candidate Kamala Harris said Monday she is considering a second run for the presidency.

The former vice president made the remarks during an interview with author Sharon McMahon on a live video call. Harris has been largely out of the public eye since the election and recently announced she would not seek the governorship of California.

During the conversation, McMahon asked: “Everybody here wants to know the answer. Will you run again?”

Harris replied: “I haven’t decided.”

When pressed further, McMahon noted: “That’s what I’ve been saying. I closed the book and I’m like, ‘Oh, she wants to.’ She’s just thinking about it.”

In a separate statement, Harris described spending six months reflecting on this moment in our nation’s history and how she would continue fighting for the American people.

Harris also published a book titled “107 days” that chronicled her experience during the brief and unsuccessful presidential campaign against President Donald Trump. She lost the 2024 election by a margin of two million votes, allowing former President Donald Trump to secure his second term in the Oval Office.

Since then, various former campaign staffers have placed blame on former President Joe Biden for hanging on too long to his re-election hopes.

“It’s all Biden. … He totally fed us,” said David Plouffe, a former top adviser to Harris’s campaign.
