Church Safety Director Arrested for Impersonating ICE Agent

Donald Doolittle, the safety director at Gateway Community Church of Webster, Texas, was arrested after allegedly pretending to be an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent during a dispute with a Houston massage therapist. The incident involved Doolittle threatening to take the woman away from her family unless she paid him $500, according to an affidavit. Rita Dumont Mayans, the masseuse, reportedly paid him the money and received texts alleging she would not hear from ICE agents. Doolittle also allegedly instructed her to delete the messages.

Police were notified the next day when Mayans spoke to officers at a luncheon. During his interview with police, Doolittle denied being at the business or receiving a massage, though security footage contradicted his claims. He was charged with impersonating a public servant. The church confirmed he was fired from his position, with the affidavit stating he had worked there for 10 years. “Upon learning of these allegations on Saturday night, we took immediate steps to ensure the safety and well-being of our congregation and community,” read a statement from the church. Doolittle’s bond was set at $10,000.
