Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) conducted a 10-day operation in Houston, Texas, resulting in 1,500 arrests over the span of 10 days, according to an NBC News report. The raids, part of broader immigration enforcement efforts, have drawn attention as illegal alien apprehensions in the state increased following recent operations.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed the operation on social media, citing President Trump and South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem for “unleashing ICE to make America safe again.” NBC noted that the per-day arrest rate during the Houston raid exceeded averages seen in other cities.
Similar 10-day raids in February and August led to 543 and 822 arrests, respectively, as reported by Bret Bradford, director of the Houston field office. The DHS statement emphasized a hardline approach, declaring, “If you come to our country and break our laws, we will hunt you down.”
The operation highlights intensified immigration enforcement under the Trump administration, with Texas becoming a focal point for such efforts.
