The United States has become a multicultural empire, governed by an elite centralization that undermines the principles of self-government. To restore republic, it must end immigration, scale back foreign ambitions, and cultivate a shared, virtuous culture. Without these steps, talk of republican revival is performative.
The country has been transformed into a multicultural empire, granting immense power to its ruling elite in the hope of managing instability produced by extreme diversity. A republic cannot endure under these conditions. Americans must reclaim the unity that makes self-government possible or be ruled, not represented. Republics are earned. Empires are endured.
