Michigan Mother Confesses to Murdering Pregnant Daughter and Unborn Grandson

According to new court documents, 40-year-old Cortney Bartholomew confessed to committing grisly acts against her daughter Rebecca Park, who was found dead in a Michigan forest. The case has taken an alarming turn with sordid accusations of illicit family affairs emerging.

Rebecca Park, a 22-year-old woman approximately 38 weeks pregnant, was reported missing on November 4 by the Wexford County Sheriff’s Office. After weeks of intense searches, her body was discovered in the Manistee National Forest on November 25—just three days before she was due to give birth. Her child was no longer alive within her womb.

The Michigan Attorney General’s office stated that Cortney Bartholomew and Bradly Bartholomew, a 47-year-old man, lured Park to their home in Wexford County. Cortney is Rebecca’s biological mother, who gave up her daughter for adoption as a young child; Bradly serves as her stepfather.

Court documents reveal that Cortney later admitted to law enforcement that Rebecca was still conscious when she cut the baby from her womb while Bradly held a knife to her throat. The affidavit states Cortney told Rebecca, “Your baby is gonna die.” Bradly claimed the infant was not alive at removal and did not breathe or cry after being taken out of the womb.

Additional details indicate Cortney reported having a romantic relationship with Rebecca’s fiancé, Richard Falor, who is the father of the unborn child. Cortney also alleged that Falor was abusive toward Park and caused her to miscarry, though no charges were filed against him following a sheriff’s report. Bradly further stated that the incident stemmed from a revenge plot due to Cortney’s relationship with Falor and his belief she caused his imprisonment.

Rebecca’s 21-year-old sister, Kimberly Park, has been arrested on charges including tampering with evidence, lying to police, and filing false reports. All involved—including Cortney Bartholomew, Bradly Bartholomew, Kimberly Park, and Richard Falor—face multiple felony counts related to the case, with their court appearances scheduled for January 13, 2026.
