Comedian and actress Leslie Jones has demanded that every employee of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) be sent to jail, calling for a reckoning following this year’s midterm elections.
Speaking on “The Best People” podcast with Nicolle Wallace, Jones emphasized the need for accountability. “I just want a reckoning,” she said. “Y’all know y’all did wrong stuff. You know some of the stuff you did was so wrong.”
Jones expressed her hope that voters would turnout in large numbers during the midterm elections to flip the political landscape, followed by a reckoning for those involved with ICE. “Girl, I’m hoping, this is what I’m hoping, that midterms, people come out and vote like crazy to switch it over, and then the reckoning comes,” she told Wallace.
The comedian also urged accountability for others in politics, stating that certain influencers who engage in “completely terrible” behavior should face consequences despite claims of freedom of speech. “You see somebody that’s doing something completely terrible… there should be accountability,” Jones added.
Jones’ comments have been widely shared on social media after a video of her remarks went viral. The text also notes that mass deportations have been a key part of President Donald Trump’s agenda to address the influx of illegal aliens over the past four years under the Biden administration, though some efforts have faced legal challenges. ICE did not respond to requests for comment regarding Jones’ statements.
