Vance Emerges as Turning Point USA’s 2028 Nomination Front-Runner with 84.2% Support

At Turning Point USA’s recent conference, attendees’ straw poll results indicate Vice President JD Vance as the leading candidate for the 2028 Republican presidential nomination with 84.2% support.

In a previous poll conducted for the 2024 nomination, former President Donald Trump received 82.6% of votes. Secretary of State Marco Rubio secured 4.8%, while Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Donald Trump Jr. each garnered 2.9% and 1.8%, respectively.

The event also assessed attendees’ views on U.S.-Israel relations, with one-third identifying Israel as the country’s top ally, 53.4% viewing it as one among many allies, and 13.3% stating that Israel is not an ally at all.

On immigration policy, 89.5% of respondents supported a moratorium on U.S. immigration, compared to 10.5% who opposed the measure.

When asked about threats to the United States, “radical Islam” ranked as the top concern among attendees, followed by “socialism/Marxism” and “mass migration.”

Vance spoke at the conference and was endorsed by Erika Kirk, wife of Charlie Kirk, for president. He has not yet announced an official campaign.
