A 12-year-old boy went missing from his Chickasha, Oklahoma home for nine days before being found by volunteers at a family farm in Caddo County on Sunday. Police have arrested his mother, Kimberly Cole, 33, and stepfather, George Franklin Cole Jr., 43, in connection with allegations of horrific sexual abuse and other crimes against the boy.
According to police reports, the boy told authorities he had been trying to escape after years of torture by both parents. He was placed in state custody following his discovery.
The Coles are accused of abusing the boy and another victim from as far back as 2020. George Cole allegedly bound the boy with handcuffs and zip-ties, stabbed him, tased him, beat him with a nightstick, and used a cattle probe on him. Kimberly Cole is also charged with similar acts, including allegations of bestiality.
George Cole faces 14 felonies, including eight counts of child abuse, one count of child sexual abuse, three counts of child neglect, and conspiracy. Kimberly Cole faces 11 charges, such as three counts of child abuse, three counts of child neglect, two counts of child sexual abuse, two counts of crimes against nature, and one count of conspiracy.
On Monday, George Cole appeared in court and was granted a $2.5 million bond. After returning to his cell, he attempted suicide by hanging. The boy’s biological father is currently seeking custody of the minor.
One relative reported that police had returned the boy to the Coles after he ran away to seek help from his step-great-aunt, and that she witnessed evidence of abuse. A neighbor stated: “Some terrible world we live in. I think he went through a terrible ordeal, and I’m just thankful to God that he’s alive.”
George Cole was hospitalized following his suicide attempt.
