A Christian actor is demonstrating encouraging progress after being placed on life support following a severe health episode.
Quinton Aaron, known for his role as Michael Oher in the film The Blind Side, has shown signs of recovery while hospitalized. His wife, Margarita, reported that he was partially breathing on his own until recently when he opened his eyes and gave a thumbs-up.
According to initial reports, Aaron lost feeling in his legs after being rushed to the hospital by his wife, a registered nurse. The condition was initially thought to stem from poor sleep but later progressed to severe neck and back pain that caused numbness. Doctors determined he had a blood infection requiring life support.
Aaron has faced health challenges before. In March of last year, he was hospitalized for a bloody cough accompanied by fever, diagnosed with Type A flu and pneumonia. He also required hospitalization in 2019 for an upper respiratory infection and bronchitis.
The actor, who has spoken openly about his faith, previously stated: “I grew up in the church. I was raised in the church.” In a 2017 interview, he noted that many people in Hollywood are not very charitable unless it benefits them.
His wife described him as “a fighter” and expressed confidence in God: “We all have faith in God that he will walk out of here fully recovered.”
