A 19-year-old student is facing five charges after being identified as the individual who overturned a Turning Point USA display table on the University of Iowa campus. A TPUSA social media account shared video showing a smiling student approaching the hot chocolate display table and toppling it before walking away, with TPUSA members seen cheerfully cleaning up the mess.
Authorities confirmed the suspect’s identity as Justin Pham Calhoon, who was booked into Johnson County Jail on Wednesday. Calhoon faces two counts of disorderly conduct, fifth-degree criminal mischief, and two counts of third-degree harassment. A university spokesperson stated that all Iowa students must adhere to the Code of Student Life, emphasizing that disciplinary actions depend on the severity of violations.
Cabot Phillips, an editor at the Daily Wire, shared a video appearing to depict Calhoon overturning another table ahead of his event at the university. The incident, dated October 25, revealed Calhoon wearing a dress, leading some to speculate about their identity. Calhoon has no prior criminal history beyond a traffic violation. A request for comment from Turning Point USA remained unanswered.
