$167 Million Winner Found Sleeping in Running Mustang After Fifth Arrest Since Jackpot Win

A man who last year won a $167 million Kentucky Powerball lottery has been arrested for the fifth time since taking the massive jackpot, according to authorities.

Surveillance footage showed the individual asleep inside a running white Ford Mustang with a temporary tag that was stopped in the middle of an intersection just before 3 a.m. Sunday. The vehicle later moved and parked near electric vehicle charging stations at a Walmart in Georgetown.

When deputies arrived, James Shannon Farthing was found asleep alone inside the vehicle while the car remained running. Authorities stated Farthing did not initially respond to their presence and only woke up after deputies repeatedly knocked on the car. A police citation listed signs of possible impairment, including bloodshot and watery eyes, slurred speech, and difficulty maintaining balance.
