Hector Balderas-Aheelor, the suspect charged in the death of an 11-year-old Escondido boy named Aiden Antonio Torres De Paz, has a history stretching back nearly two decades before this Thanksgiving tragedy occurred.
According to authorities, the incident unfolded when the child left his home on Thanksgiving evening to retrieve a soccer ball. Tragically, Balderas-Aheelor allegedly ran over the young boy. The child died the following morning.
Now charged with felony hit-and-run causing death or injury, DHS officials are harshly criticizing California Gov. Gavin Newsom for not honoring immigration detention requests related to this individual. This is particularly concerning given that Balderas-Aheelor was previously deported four times.
The Department of Homeland Security is blasting Governor Newsom after an illegal alien with a documented history of deportations multiple times before, including most recently in 2010, was charged in the Thanksgiving-related death.
