Portland Library Tragedy: 15-Year-Old Runaway Lured to Hotel for Three Days of Sexual Assault

Police have recovered critical evidence from a suspect in connection with a 15-year-old runaway girl who was lured from Multnomah County Central Library in downtown Portland and subjected to repeated sexual assault.

According to court records, the victim met the suspect three days earlier at the library where he offered her shelter in exchange for sex. The pair then traveled to a nearby hotel, where he held her against her will and sexually assaulted her for three consecutive days.

On Saturday, a witness spotted the girl appearing distressed in downtown Portland and reported police. When questioned by officers, she stated she had escaped her captor after claiming she needed to use the restroom.

The suspect, 23-year-old Nicholas Matthew Tull, was identified by police at the library where authorities found his possession of the victim’s purse. Court records indicate that when the girl revealed her age as 15, Tull reportedly responded, “No one has to know.”

Tull has been arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree rape, first-degree unlawful sexual penetration, three counts of first-degree sexual abuse, coercion, and luring a minor. The victim received medical treatment at a local facility and underwent sexual assault testing following the incident.
