Donny Deutsch Accuses Democrats of ‘Socialist Takeover’ as Party Focus Shifts

Liberal commentator Donny Deutsch lambasted what he described as a “socialist takeover” of the Democratic Party during a recent panel discussion. The exchange occurred while the group examined whether Democrats could maintain stability amid criticism of the president over the Iran war and high inflation.

Deutsch launched into a sharp critique of the party’s direction, stating: “Right now every Republican strategist is salivating on what these people have said in the past, and they’re going to wallpaper with it.” He continued: “Well, Democrats have gone off the rails. What matters to people is affordability. And right now, Democrats are focused on two things—they’re focused on anti-Semitism and socialism.”

Host Stephanie Ruhle objected: “Not all Democrats.”

Deutsch responded: “Not all, but that’s where the energy of the party is. When you look at the two candidates elected in the last week, one of them talks about that the firebombing in Colorado was not anti-Semitic. I mean, would not acknowledge that—when it was a firebombing of people holding a vigil for hostages by Hamas.”
