Tony Romo, the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback who spent 13 years with the franchise, has been arrested by Milwaukee County authorities after failing field sobriety tests.
According to an arrest report, Romo was driving southbound on Interstate 43 Thursday evening when he was stopped at approximately 6 p.m. The incident led to his being taken into custody and booked on a charge of operating while intoxicated (OWI).
Romo, who is 46 years old and married with three children, has strong ties to the area where he was arrested. He was born in Burlington and graduated from Burlington High School. In 2020, Romo visited his hometown to attend the dedication of “Tony Romo Field” by the Burlington Area School District for the school’s homecoming game.
