A newly released mug shot reveals the bloodied face of Ronald Jeffery Johnson, a 51-year-old man from Fort Lauderdale, who allegedly challenged an off-duty police officer to a fight inside Broward Health Medical Center’s emergency room on August 29.
According to an arrest report filed with law enforcement, Johnson was reportedly yelling aggressively at medical staff when an off-duty police officer in full uniform was notified of the disturbance. The officer documented that Johnson yelled from across the registration desk, creating a breach of peace and instilling fear among patients in the waiting area.
“I observed the defendant yelling at medical staff from the opposite side of the registration desk, causing a breach of peace in the waiting room and creating fear in the surrounding patients,” the report stated.
After Johnson spotted the officer, he allegedly confronted him directly. Police took Johnson into custody following the incident.
