An elderly Air Force veteran was assaulted, injured, and robbed after withdrawing cash from an ATM in Pearland, Texas earlier this month. Cellphone video footage shows a juvenile taking the victim’s wallet.
The incident occurred on June 19 outside a Walgreens store, with the victim lying on the ground in a parking space. The veteran, who is 79 years old, told reporters he believed withdrawing cash from an ATM inside the store was safer but suspects he was being watched. He stated he was jumped as soon as he walked out of the store and suffered only minor injuries.
Pearland police confirmed that the suspect seen in video footage has been identified as a juvenile, and the investigation is ongoing as officers work to take him into custody.
