A tragic incident in Plantation, Florida, left a family devastated after a father discovered his child had never been dropped off at day care.
The man, whose identity remains confidential, believed he had placed the child in the morning and proceeded to work. At the end of the day, he returned to A World of Discovery Academy only to find his horrific mistake: his child was missing.
“He opened the door, then slammed it shut,” the father recounted, “and let out this scream.”
The child was discovered dead in the back seat of the father’s car.
Leslie Novoa, the academy’s owner and director, explained that staff did not react when the child wasn’t dropped off that day because the parents had previously informed them they would not be dropping off the older child.
